Will FLOW the Triple Play Co. Continue to be the Benevolent Monopoly?

Jamaica- Flow, the brand of Columbus Communications has spent billions in the past 18 months rolling out their watch, talk and click triple play (Internet, landline telephone and cable TV) in Jamaica. They’ve laid lots of fibreoptic pipe, bought 5 cable companies and now been promoting the highspeed digital life. While I concede that this kind of company is needed to help push the internet penetration rate higher than the measly 34% it is now, there is no question that Flow intends on being a monopoly. Plus, which other company is gonna layout that kinda cash to compete and it simply may not be financially viable feasible to even do it.

So the question is will Flow be a benevolent monopoly? Or will they become a nouveau Cable & Wireless as we experienced them back in the days of high prices, you get new products when WE say you get new products attitude and just remember you’re MY bitch type customer service. Let’s watch the leadership, attitudes and what else they’re doing in 20 other Caribbean countries they operate like Trinidad and Bahamas.
