Cashing in or Crashing- Cashplusinvestment.com is forex trading n investment club central

November 7, 2007

cashplus.jpgWe’ve been reporting on the Forex trading and investment fever in Jamaica since our site went live two months ago and to date, they remain our most read blog posts. Then we happened on a site and its publisher- cashplusinvestment.com a site that chronicles and gives indepth information on investment clubs of all kinds, updating regularly. It’s a pretty good online resource. There is where you can see who will be the winners and losers I think. A site to bookmark.

SC: What’s your mission/intention for this site?C+: I am based in Kingston actually. My mission is to inform the Jamaican people as well as the Diaspora about these investment clubs/schemes. To some it’s a good way to make money in a country starved for investment. To others it’s a system that is built on clever loopholes around the law and is bound to crash, bringing many people and their interest to their knees. To me it’s both, used wisely, people can make huge sums of money and get out if and when the collapse occurs.Previous Related StoriesForex Fever growing and growing in JamaicaJamaican onlinefx trader blogs his journey to fx riches Is the online forex trading fever the 90s day trading disaster in waiting Capitalor, Swedish forex company targets Jamaica- the CEO interview Read more

MiPhone switching to GSM, adding a new CEO and buying bMobile?

November 6, 2007

miphone.jpgJamaica-So this is what some industry insiders are chatting about this week. MiPhone, (the mobile service provider with the smallest market share in Jamaica) which was bought for a reported US$70 million by the very deep pocketed America Movil, Latin America’s largest mobile service provider owned by billionaire Carlos Slim is about to fly the gate. It is being said that they are switching to GSM and will be adding a new CEO pretty soon. This makes sense, why play hero and keep pushing a platform just because it’s supposed to be a more robust and efficient one. Then the industry conversations got more interesting when it mentioned that it would make sense MiPhone buys Cable & Wireless’ bMobile business, simply because nothing’s happening for CWJ these days it seems. They continue to piss off customers with consistently nonexistent customer service, dodgy internet service, rumours of management bunglings and sudden CEO swaps. And they certainly haven’t been spending any money lately. Read more

Facebook Flyers Pro better than Google AdWords?

November 2, 2007

facebook-flyers.JPGby David MullingsI have spoken about brands using social networking sites before but this post seeks to show exactly how Facebook can be used for targeted advertising (and why it could very well be worth so much money).Facebook has had a feature called Facebook Flyers where advertisers could place ads and pay for impressions received. They recently created a Pro version that allows advertising more like Google, pay per click.Presently I can only access the flyers application by clicking a link below a flyer that appears on my page but I believe that full access is what Facebook will unveil with their new advertising platform in a few days - AdWords for Facebook that leverages user data and has an image.
