Business is booming online. And regardless of recession, global economic slow down-online advertising, ecommerce and other areas of money making online is expected to continue positive growth rates this year and for many more to come.

This is great news for Internet entrepreneurs like myself who are focused on developing various profitable web-based business. The fact is the barriers to entry in developing an online business has fallen. The tools and applications that are essential for launching an online business are getting easier to use and less expensive to buy. There has never been a better time to start an online business but not many people are actually doing very well, according to stats, the success rate for internet businesses is still less than 10%.

Why the low success rate?

The sites that succeed are the ones run by people who have the time and commitment to invest in learning how to run a money making website. This includes how to choose a subject, brand and domain name, what site design works best whether a blog, forum, social network, what functionalities must new site have, what are the ways of generating an income from a popular site and how to drive traffic using the search engines. There is quite a lot to learn and unfortunately there is a lot of hyped and misleading information available on the internet, so it’s a challenge to separate the good from the bad.

I recommend this site as a source.

I happened upon Subhub.com’s free ten part video course on How to Start and Internet Business from Scratch and it’s excellent! It’s just what the doctor ordered for people who are thinking about starting an Internet business to out do the JohnCHow.com and Shoemoney.com guys(who are six figure earning bloggers) and for those who’ve already started and wonder if they really have what it takes to be succcessful. I’m taking the course, because while I know alot, I’m all about learning anything new that will push me further along.

The Subhub video course from a British-based company is divided into ten 10 minute videos which covers the following:

VIDEO 1 - Getting Started

VIDEO 2 - Choosing a Website Subject and Name

VIDEO 3 - Five Ways to Make Money

VIDEO 4 - Creating Professional Navigation & Design

VIDEO 5 - Planning your Website’s Content

VIDEO 6 - How to Get Your Business Online

VIDEO 7 - The Process of Building Your Website

VIDEO 8 - Launch Your Online Business

VIDEO 9 - Marketing Jumpstart - Driving Free Traffic to Your Website

VIDEO 10 - How to Grow and Expand Your Business

Thanks for the link. I’ll definately check it out. I agree that marketing a website takes time. Making money is even harder. I have two websites that I’ve started since October last year but haven’t made any real money yet. My Adsense balance is slowly creeping up. But I’ve seen one of my sites go from 14 unique visitors in October to 1500 unique visitors in March and I think that’s quite good. I just need to convert visitors into money and I’ll be good.

What a great site! At last someone who can explain the complexities of setting up an internet business in a simple, easy to understand way. Have you seen the article about 15 websites to get free or cheap images. It’s fantastic!
