Perhaps this has been going on for a while, but I’ve never noticed it before. YouTube users often create an original video using their favorite popular song as the audio. This is interesting indeed but I have also recently seen a fan video with a link below allowing you to purchase the song in the video from iTunes or Amazon. The song was some well-known band that is signed to a major label.
I see users raising hell and then YouTube using that to get the labels to allow the songs in the videos to play as long as they add those “Purchase this song on iTunes or Amazon” link below.
YouTube and the labels would earn revenue from that for sure.
