MyLife.com cool concept

MyLife.com is the fourth larget social network in terms of monthly unique visitors according to ClickZ.com. It’s new to me, so I had to share it. MyLife.cm is a people search. With a tag line tha states, Find Everyone, in One Place, the site scours 750+ million profiles - across the web’s most popular sites such as Facebook, Linkedin,Twitter, MySpace and Flickr! Then once you find who you’re looking for you can connect and manage those connections from the site. Warning though, it markets itself as America’s Number one people search…so don’t go on a rabid search for your Caribbean friends unless they are part of American centric social networks and pretty much most are.

I did a search for my name on the site and sure enough, links to Facebook and Linkedin profiles where I used my real name of course popped up. To view those profiles and connect, you do have to join mylife.com of course. Useful tool. I like.

I tried it but I didn’t like it at all. The “free” version subjects you constant spamming to get you to sign up for the premium ($) editions.
The results in the free version are no better than putting a name in Google. Other than the premium fees they’re not adding much new over freely available info.

Marc, I just discovered that spam aspect. How do I make it stop. I hate that! I don’t mind the concept still, it’s not original…but they just lost points with me because of the spam but was nonetheless impressed by their ascension in the social media marketspace.

you are lucky u don’t get a reply or the loads of spam and false promises they make while taking your hard earned money. They ended up with mine after careful consideration (not enough) hundred of deceiving emails and false promises. I CAN AND WILL FIGHT BACK.
