STATS: African Americans Online, the Opportunity

I got wind of these stats and had to share them. 24 MILLION AFRICAN AMERICANS are projected online by 2010* according to an eMarketer, October 2007 report. Additionally:
• Nearly 80% of African Americans in the U.S. currently have Internet access.(Source: AOL African-American Cyberstudy, 2005)
• 31% of online African American households have a high-speed connection.(Source: Pew Research Center, 2006)
• They are also among the early adopters of the mobile Internet.(Source: Yankelovich 2006 Multicultural Marketing Study)
BUT
Most say there isn’t enough online content that speaks to them as a distinct culture…(Source: AOL African-American Cyberstudy, 2005)
