38% Jamaicans now Internet users

THIRTY-eight per cent of Jamaicans use the Internet at least once per day, according to an islandwide survey conducted by the Mona School of Business (MSB) at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona.

The survey, conducted by Professor Hopeton Dunn of the MSB’s Telecommunications Policy Management Programme between November 2010 and January this year, with assistance from the United Nations and other international bodies, surveyed 2,200 households and individuals. Fifteen point six per cent of the respondents had access to the Internet at home.
