Caribbean Tech Community welcomes Google for Entrepreneurs Platform

Startups and entrepreneurship is experiencing a boom worldwide right now. Like never before aspiring entrepreneurs can leverage the internet and build technologies can that transform the way we live, play, work and do business. There are approximately 400 million entrepreneurs across 54 countries, and 69 million early-stage entrepreneurs offering new products and services, according to a report from Google.

Consequently, with Google turns 14 this month, they decided to celebrate this global entrepreneurial spirit by officially launching Google for Entrepreneurs, the umbrella for our several dozen programs and partnerships around the world that support startups and entrepreneurs.

They have stated that the purpose of Google for Entrepreneurs.

1. Partnerships with strong organizations that serve entrepreneurs in local communities.
2. Google-led programs to bring our teams and our tools directly to entrepreneurs.
3. Placing relevant Google tools in the hands of startups as they are getting off the ground and ready to scale

Google has partnered up with some of the best organizations around the globe including a number of accelerator and incubator programs like NewME Accelerator and iHub in Kenya as well as organizations such as Startup Weekend and Women 2.0.

In addition to the new platfrom, Google also kicked off its Google for Entrepreneurs Week that will bring together more than 3,000 entrepreneurs and Googlers around the world. Over the course of the next week, Googlers in 28 cities across 13 countries will be hosting an event in their communities to bring their passion and expertise to local entrepreneurs.
