Capital Blu takes on David SMith’s Olint and MTI Traders in Jamaica

February 19, 2008

capital-blu2.jpgFirst there was David Smith and Olint, then a bunch of others forex trading investment clubs, then the Financial Services Commission stopped the party until they all get regulated and approved. Now on the eve of the forex trading clubs getting a greenlight to offer forex trading services to Jamaica, Capital Blu Management has thrown its hat into the ring. With full page ads in newspapers, announcing a free seminar to explain how forex trading works and offering education materials along with it, Capital blu has also pit itself squarely against MTI Traders, which has been the dominant forex educator here in the last two years. MTI Traders had an easy run to the minds if Jamaicans with a single fact, they were the ones that trained the forex trading poster boy David Smith. So in one fell swoop Capital BLu takes on David Smith’s Olint as it plans on managing members account in addition to training individuals who want to trade forex on their own and of course also providing a trading platform. Minvestment.com gone and Swisscash returns as swisscashinvest.net

February 1, 2008

For all those still waiting, weeping and gnashing thy teeth, the reality is still glaring-minvestment.com is still down,so chances are your money is gone. Then ask yourself this question, if they are to come back online do you expect to get your money back and will you still consider investing? Is there still trust for a company that communicated quickly and clearly when taking your money, but said nothing when supposedly moving servers or doing site maintenance.

As more Jamaicans and other Caribbean people come online, they have to be aware of online investment scams and dangers as they surf and interact. With the generous use of Google search, google maps you can do your own homework, get credible information which will guide you in making the smart decision.

And now this warning, swisschash.com which ran and robbed many Jamaicans of hundreds of thousands of USdollars have resurfaced as swisscashinvest.net with a slicker site and the same scammy sweet talk. There is nothing Swiss about this online site scam, more like Indian or South African surmised by other reputable sites investigating them. Check out this extensive bit of investigation into swisscashinvest.net and let it guide you in what to look for when choosing your online investments.

Minvestment.com switches from ebullion to libertyreserve.com

This is an official news bulletin from minvestment.com the HYIP, that’s been getting some Jamaicans equally excited and worried. Their investment option offers you the opportunity of investing US$100, lock it in for 150 days and get US$11,605.90 with an average daily interest rate of 1.4% -1.9%.

We carried a couple of days ago that Jamaicans having heard about from as early as mid last year have jumped head first. In doing our research on this online only investment company, we found some disturbing forum posts about the cease and desist order from ebullion.com to minvestment.com
This is minvestment.com’s official response.

Minvestment.com on shady,shakey ground?

fool-dot-com.jpg

by Ingrid Riley

I read everything despite the hype. I waited three years from the first time I heard of Olint before I put money in there and I went to school with David Smith. I didn’t invest until I did my homework and then I ran with my money to put it in.

Fastfoward, Jamaicans especially are hungry for high returns and minvestment.com has been one that has sprung up late last year and already has started a wildfire. As an investor I am both skeptical and interested, but my journalist nose has had me online looking to get to the who, what and how come of this.

My weirdness began when I was helping a friend sign up for this and I got a server error when I typed in minvestment.com. Never a good sign in my mind, even though down servers is a thing that happens for many reasons- scheduled maintenance, unpaid server fees, server overloaded by traffic. But I guess because of the Swisscash.com debacle, I was a little bit skittish. When a website has no phone numbers and other regular contact information I tend to start worrying.
