Kingston, JamaicaJamaica Gleaner, the 106 year old national daily newspaper with its online brands jamaica-gleaner.com and go-jamaica.com are in talks to buy a site or two from the Delroy Frazer-led Vibes Network, industry sources told us.

It’s almost no secret that the Gleaner’s online properties are heavily trafficked by Jamaicans at home and abroad and its 21st most visited site by Jamaica. The company is now in an aggressive push to increase their site traffic and revenues by rolling out more features their online visitors have been asking for such as more of a social networking element which is hugely popular globally.

That’s why buying a site with built in online branding and traffic is a good fit, hence the talks with Frazer and his Vibes Network – a five site network of social networking communities with its marquis brand VibesConnect.com. In the Network there is also villagehub.com, cupidvibes.com,mivibes.com and christianvibes.com. We were told that the lifely sites to be sold are villagehub.com and cupidvibes.com.
