About the site rankings and trends to watch N.B. Note, that a site can change their rankings depending on their level of marketing online and offline; its linking relationships; how often the site is updated and if new features added; how deep and sticky the site is in terms of number of pages, interesting text, audio and video content among other things. Now while site rankings are great, it’s always better, especially when spending advertising money, to find out from site owner/publisher not how many hits the site gets, as that’s never accurate and not the global industry standard, but how many unique visitors they get a month and what is their repeat visitor rate like.

Trends to watch: Video, music and entertainment online, social networking and news. It seems Jamaicans online habits are mirroring that of the global trend. While the Net has been primarily text and audio, the move has been more towards video given the increasing broadband penetration. Additionally, the social networking boom continues and expects to become as standard online as email.
