First there was CaribTweet.com now their Folkstown.com. The site CaribTweet.com, Twitter for Caribbean small talk, launched just in January this year while Folkstown-Exploring Caribbean Conversations, which I discovered from a Twitter link has just launched in beta. While CaribTweet.com seems to have stuck to making their site a social hub, Folkstown has a different kind of talk it seems. On their site they say “Folkstown.com is only a glimpse into what’s on people’s minds. For Caribbean marketers, Twitter provides you with an effective way of spotting new trends, conversation topics and points of view.” With folkstown.com you can read incoming tweets, suggest a Caribbean Twitter user and you can check for the top tags. In fact it kinda reminds me of a Caribbean version of wefollow.com.
