KINGSTON, JAMAICA | June 16, 2025 — Jamaican technology company NovaCore Labs is deepening its role in accelerating the country’s digital transformation. The company is currently rolling out a wave of integrated projects across government ministries, educational institutions, and national security agencies, powered by artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and cloud technologies.
“We see tremendous opportunity in leveraging the technologies we’ve built to modernize Jamaica’s systems and services,” said Gregory Moore, CEO and co-founder of NovaCore Labs.
While project details remain under wraps, confirmed partners include the Ministry of National Security, Jamaica Constabulary Force, and the National Works Agency, among others. These collaborations mark a strategic shift for the company, which first gained attention in 2018 with its virtual reality gaming platform and has since evolved into a digital innovation leader.
Through its VR-based driving simulation systems now used in schools and transport depots, NovaCore has become a key player in the modernization of public infrastructure and education.
“Digital transformation is no longer a nice-to-have. It’s a national priority. Whether it’s pandemics, disasters, or economic disruption—resilient digital systems are critical,” Moore emphasized.
The company is also advancing a regional education initiative in partnership with The University of the West Indies Global Campus. This long-term collaboration spans 16 countries and will focus on developing immersive, AI-driven learning tools using virtual and extended reality (XR) technologies.
“That’s something we’re aggressively pursuing. We’ll be sharing more about it soon,” Moore noted.
NovaCore is also ramping up its internship programme aimed at students from technical and tertiary institutions. The goal is to help them gain real-world experience in the digital tech space and bridge the growing skills gap in the industry.
“We want to create a direct pipeline between the classroom and the innovation economy,” Moore said. “This is one of the most important investments we can make right now—for the country and for our youth.”
In another major move, the company launched Jamaica’s first Google Street View car last year, successfully mapping key tourist zones. Funded by the Development Bank of Jamaica and the Tourism Enhancement Fund, the project is ongoing. NovaCore now offers the service commercially to local businesses seeking to enhance their online visibility with Street View integration.
With these initiatives, NovaCore Labs is doubling down on its mission to future-proof Jamaica’s institutions and empower the next generation of Caribbean innovators.
