Caribbean people flocking facebook.com

USA- WestIndian/Caribbean focused groups are fast growing on facebook.com. Evidence of this is a single group called You know you are a West Indian when…which was started by Alicia Angevine, a Caribbean born forensic science student at New Haven College in US. The online group around 6 months old has just under 12,000 members.” I don’t remember when I exactly started the group. I think it was last December or so and I didn’t have anything in mind but to just spread some west indian culture to other west indians and get a laugh.” And clearly it’s working.
Other WestIndian/Caribbean individuals are using purely for business. Enter, Kesi Gardener, owner of the Sprawl Tees clothing line. With no storefront, free delivery for all orders called or emailed in, plus a small following from sponsorship of entertainment events and places in Kingston Kesi created a group on facebook. She then went cross marketing across other Jamaican, West Indian and Global groups, her site traffic went up and sales went UP. David Mullings’ RealVibez, a website that features reggae/dancehall and soca music videos, in studio artiste recordings uses facebook to promote the site. Bill Bailey’s DineIn Jamaica created a group too to test the idea of his food delivery service for premium restaurant brands. Things got way out of hands, the calls came in too fast and he was forced to begin service before his official launch. ThanksFacebook. Then WehFigo.com, 876radio.com and even strong Caribbean magazine brands such as Ocean Style and Maco jumped into set up groups, win new fans and move with the trend.

You should do a feature on the artists making use of Facebook as well. Rootz Underground is doing an amazing job of connecting with fans.
I have seen Cezar with videos and so forth as well. FB is definitely a hot spot and rightly so.
