TargetJamaica.com – Deep Discounts Digitally Delivered has an excellent idea…it’s a classifieds site basically and a site where you can search, find, print and go redeem your discount coupons-but my question to them is…you’ve spend the time and the money to source and set up such a site, you are now running facebook ads and sending people to an empty site? …come on!
Always, always before launching sites like these, front load them…which simply means, preload listings and content on the site before you start sending people to an empty site hoping they will be the ones to list. One thing you gotta understand, people go where they see other people going, so you need to create that initial so they tell their friends and they all come back to use the service.

Based on the text of the ad, “Do you know where your customers are? Find them here”, I would say that the ads are intended to get people to list items on the site.
That is fine, except for the fact that no one stays long at an empty party.
Real marketing faux pas to not populate the site with some basic listings first. People use things that other people are clearly using and most people will never help to kick-start.

Category overkilll and people not doing their homework in the categories they choose to enter and seeing what makes them unique.
