They are now 1 million Jamaicans on Facebook, here’s the breakdown

With all the talk about the Jamaican showcase on Snapchat yesterday and the buzz continuing on Twitter and Facebook, I was curious to check to see the numbers of Jamaicans on Facebook. I had checked it a weeks ago and it was over 900k. Today I looked and according to Facebook Stats the number of Jamaicans aged 13-65+ now stands at 1,000,000 users.

Here is the breakdown

Everyone                                       : Age 13-64+    – 1,000,000 people
The Beloved Target                     : Age 18-35       – 670,000 people
Teenagers                                     : Age 13 – 19      – 200,000 people
TwentySomethings                     : Age 20-29      – 410,000 people
ThirtySomethings                       : Age 30-39      – 220,000 people

Facebook is still the dominant global social media platform –  it’s still the number one place where we are all go to connect with people and brands we like. As of the second quarter of 2015, Facebook had 1.49 billion monthly active users.
