Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao lands in Barbados Today and what that means for Caribbean Crypto & Fintech Industries

Thanks to HSE Gabriel Abed’s ( A Caribbean Crypto Pioneer) Instragam Stories ( see featured screenshot), we’ve learned that the Ceo of Binance is now in Barbados. If you remember back in March this year, Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley had spoken about a potential partnership between Barbados and Binance in her budget speech. In that speech, Prime Minister Mottley said that Barbados had started conversations with Binance about Barbados becoming a hub for Fintech Investments and Innovation with them.

LEt’s see what happens now.

Binance is now in Barbados mere days after Bahamas-based FTX imploded under a rash of allegations of ponzi schematics, unethical behaviour by FTX’s CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and many attached to his 134 companies. Binance has weeks ago pulled the last piece of thread and sounded the alarm on the insolvency and non-kosher practices of what was the 3rd largest crypto exchange in the World. Binance was asked to save FTX, but declined mere days after.

As we had said…FTX now dead in the Caribbean, leaves a clear path for Chinese-led crypto exchange dominance in the Region, with OKX headquartered in Bahamas and led by Dr Jillian Bethel and Huobi Global likely to land in Dominica and the Justin Sun-led Blockchain TRON winning a government deal with Dominica.

Very interesting times in Crypto Caribbean culture.

Let’s see what news comes out of Barbados as a result of CZ being there.

..Story developing.
