HI EVERYONE,
I decided to go live on Instagram to announce that the next Kingston BETA event set for Thursday June 28th, 6:30pm at JAMPRO will be our FINAL EDITION.
This is our 11th year and to date we have had just over 100 events with over 10,000 attendees – high school students, college students, young professionals, creatives, social media stars, influencers, ministers of technology, business icons, academics, investors, hight net worth individuals…..and entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. We’ve had over 350 entrepreneurs pitching their ideas from 8 Caribbean countries and the Diaspora UK, CA and London.
We kickstarted the Tech Startup Community and movement here in Jamaica in February 2007 and inspired so many communities across the Caribbean Region and Diaspora.
When there is talk about Tech and Startups, Tech Entrepreneurship – The Kingston BETA names pops up first.
From the Kingston BETA community we have given to Jamaica, the Caribbean and the World – great new ideas from our Entrepreneurs.

The event itself and me as the co-founder and host have won local, regional awards and the Kingston BETA brand is known in Silicon Valley, Silicon Alley, Silicon Prairie, Silicon Roundabout, Silicon Savannah
We have advised Two Minister’s of Technology in Jamaica and partnered with dozens of local and international development, non-profit and economic development organisations on various initiatives.
We have done high school and college tours and we have presented at conferences from Chile to London to Kenya on the business of startups and growing tech entrepreneurial ecosystems.
We have been an event and a space that has created this safe and inspiring place to share ideas, tell stories of our failures without judgement, we have helped each other on our projects and businesses, we connected entrepreneurs to the right people, to investors, to international media, to global networks.
We have amplified many voices into local, regional and international media….we have inspired and facilitated successes of Jamaican and Caribbean Startups -directly and indirectly.
